Macklemore Struck by Drunk Driver: In July Macklemore was involved in a high impact traffic crash while driving his pickup truck.  Both vehicles had fully deployed airbags and crushed front ends.  The other driver was found to have a breath alcohol content of 0.19 grams per 210 liters of breath.  The legal limit is 0.08 grams per 210 liters of breath.  The police report indicated that the intoxicated driver swerved into Machlemore’s lane.  This accident occurred in Langley, Washington which is about two hours north of Seattle.

Macklemore Struck by Drunk Driver:  Macklemore discussed the crash in a radio interview.  He described his thoughts as he observed the other vehicle speeding toward him around a corner and swerving into his lane thusly:

There’s just that split second of like, ‘I’m gonna die,’ — BOOM — and then you get hit. I thought the other guy was dead. Everyone in my car was safe. My little 10-year-old nephew was using curse words that I didn’t know he knew.  Macklemore said he felt thankful his Maybach was a “tank,” but he knew if the car had not been so strong, he might have died. He then tried to dissuade anyone tempted to drink and drive. He urged people to “take Ubers, walk, take the bus,” and he said. Just don’t drink and drive. It’s not worth it.
