Deputy Sheriff David Adam Goff, of the St. Mary’s Sheriff’s Department was fired on September 4, 2008. Deputy Goff has been charged with a DWI and an assault stemming from a stop on an ATV. Goff had allegedly assaulted the handcuffed civilian. Goff smelled of alcohol and was intoxicated according to a preliminary breath test.
If an ordinary citizen, or a citizen assaulting a police officer, Goff would have done real jail time. Instead, he got to quit his job and move on. You need a good attorney to get breaks for you.
