Marcy L. Cole, a 35 year old former Elementary School Teacher, had her bail revoked on her 4th DWI charge due to her continued drinking.
Cole formerly taught 4th Grade at Roy B.
I am sure that Cole as a former government employee deserved any breaks she got – but regular citizens who pay for these government employees should get the same breaks.

Karen Kayser, a 48 year old Rockland County Middle School teacher at Felix Festa Middle School in Clarkstown, plead guilty in September, 2008 to misdemeanor child endangerment and DWI.
Ms. Kayser, a special education teacher, had a blood alcohol level of 0.35. Her children, 1 and 2 years old were turned over to their father.Ms. Kayser got probation and a $500 fine.
I am sure she deserved the break she got – but why can’t regular people who are not government employees get the same deals.

Reminiscences of Dennis Evans former police officer now a defense attorney:
I was a street officer for the Columbus Police Dept from 78-86, working a great deal of that time in the campus area. Drinking age was 18.
People went to the bars in small groups and were controlled by their budgets and the bouncers. Their friends were at the bars, they didn’t want to get kicked out so they behaved.
You now have a situation where kids who haven’t drank that much in high school can go to parties where the alcohol is free and unlimited, especially if you are female.
That is why the problems at OSU don’t start until 2-3AM when they are so drunk they don’t know what they are doing and they have the mob mentality which didn’t exist when they went to the bars in small groups.
They learn to binge drink at college because the 8-10 dollars which they would have spent on 3-4 beers over several hours at a bar gets them a 12 pack of natural lite to drink at a party.
They drink like that for 3-4 years and then leave college.
Now they have to drive to a night spot but they still drink the same way.
I don’t know what the answer is but we are creating a core group of educated alcoholics because of the 21 age limit. (Thanks to Dennis Evans)

Officer Harmon was reported to have a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage on his breath as well as glassy eyes and mush mouthed speech. The breath test indicated a blood alcohol content of .11.
Officer Harmon was released from the Wake County Jail on a promise to show up for court. Let’s watch and see how the Court treats Officer Harmon. I am sure that he deserves whatever break he gets; but what about giving those breaks to regular citizens?

Her crime was talking to federal agents; let me repeat, her crime was talking to federal agents. Actually, it was lying to federal agents – but if you don’t talk to them you cannot lie to them and commit perjury.
