Augusta County Virginia DWI Attorney Bob Keefer: Even District Attorneys get charged with DWI — They just get better treatment
Saturday, August 23rd, 2008Clay L. Ballman is District Attorney for Hutchinson County, Texas.
On May 12, 2005, District Attorney Ballman was allegedly involved in a hit and run involving a teenager which ended in his arrest for DWI.
District Attorney Ballman was not charged with hit and run.
Ballman refused the field tests and the breath test.
Ballman was convicted of DWI on July 10, 2005 and kept his job prosecuting DWIs.
The mother of the teenager claims that in May of 2006, Ballman was drinking in a vehicle in the Courthouse parking lot. Police drove them home.
In May of 2006 it was discovered that no record of his 2005 conviction had been sent to the Texas Department of Public Safety.
