Woodstock DUI Lawyer Bob Keefer says let’s hope they have mercy on Kenny Stabler with his third DUI

Monday, August 4th, 2008

We don’t really know much about Kenny Stabler’s most recent DUI arrest on June 8, 2008; the Judge sealed the file and directed all involved not to comment on the case.  A second prosecutor has recused himself for conflict of interest. Stabler, nicknamed the “Snake” played at Alabama under legendary Coach “Bear” Bryant and has a 15 year career in the NFL playing for the Oakland Raiders, the Houston Oilers and the New Orleans Saints. Stabler took the Raiders to a Super Bowl title in 1977.  At Alabama Stabler was on the teams that won the national championship in 1965 and went undefeated in 1966. Stabler had plead guilty to a 1995 DUI charge in Escambia County, Florida and a 2001 DUI charge inOrange

Beach.   This would be Stabler’s third DUI if convicted.  Stabler has a reputation for being a drinker.  He is quoted as saying about his divorces, “All I wanna do is drive around in my truck and drink Jack Daniels … and they just don’t understand.”

Video where Kenny Stabler talks about his retirement from the NFL: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cFPjncYzhwA  We don’t know what caused the police officer to pull over Stabler because of the Judge’s gag order. Let’s hope the system has mercy on Stabler like it ought to have for all citizens – not just the celebrities. Bob Keefer represents people charged with DUI/ DWI, traffic tickets, speeding tickets and reckless driving in Elkton, Virginia; Bridgewater, Virginia; Verona, Virginia;  Harrisonburg, Virginia; Rockingham County, Virginia; Staunton, Virginia; Augusta County, Virginia; Woodstock, Virginia; Waynesboro, Virginia; and Shenandoah County, VirginiaYou can find information about Bob Keefer’s firm at:  www.bobkeeferlaw.com; www.bobkeeferlaw.org; www.duidriver.net; www.keeferlawfirm.com;; www.recklessdriving.net; www.blog.recklessdriving.net; www.keefercard.comwww.injurycorner.com

Staunton VA DWI Lawyer Bob Keefer says sometimes the police cannot be believed

Monday, August 4th, 2008

Most people believe police officers to be more truthful than regular citizens.  Certainly many Judges have that belief.  In April of 2008, North Carolina State Trooper Michael A. Steele pled guilty to 10 charges including kidnapping, extortion and sexual battery.   Trooper Steele apparently targeted Hispanic women for sex when he thought they were illegal and would fear reporting him.   According to the Orange County prosecutor, Trooper Steele would threaten to turn his victims in for immigration violations.  He also threathened to kill one ladies husband and two daughters if she did not give him her number. Trooper Steele resigned; he had been a trooper since 2004.  Any chance that the state will examine his old cases to exonerate people he wronged in the past. Not likely.  Bob Keefer represents people charged with DUI/ DWI, traffic tickets, speeding tickets and reckless driving in Elkton, Virginia; Bridgewater, Virginia; Verona, Virginia;  Harrisonburg, Virginia; Rockingham County, Virginia; Staunton, Virginia; Augusta County, Virginia; Woodstock, Virginia; Waynesboro, Virginia; and Shenandoah County, VirginiaYou can find information about Bob Keefer’s firm at:  www.bobkeeferlaw.com; www.bobkeeferlaw.org; www.duidriver.net; www.keeferlawfirm.com;; www.recklessdriving.net; www.blog.recklessdriving.net; www.keefercard.comwww.injurycorner.com

Woodstock Virginia DWI Lawyer Bob Keefer says mercy for one, mercy for all

Monday, August 4th, 2008

Drunken North Carolina State Trooper Steven Bradley got a major break from the Wake County District Court.   Trooper Bradley, a 16 year veteran, drove his personal vehicle containing his two children, ages 18 and 7, off the roadway, through the woods and into a pond.  Trooper Bradley had a .14 blood alcohol content on a breath test given two hours after the accident.    Once police arrived, Trooper Bradley broke one officer’s hand and kicked another when they attempted to arrest him. Trooper Bradley had earlier appeared on the Oprah Winfrey show with $170,000.00 in debt for a money makeover.   Bradley was convicted of DUI and misdemeanor assault.  The child abuse charges were dropped.  Bradley attended a 24 day inpatient treatment program.  The Court ordered Bradley to peform 24 hours community service and pay $420 in fine and costs.  He was ordered not to drive until NC Division of Motor Vehicles gave him his license back.  Bradley resigned from the North Carolina State Police.  I am sure that Bradley deserved a break but I cannot imagine a normal citizen crashing his car into a pond with a .14 bac, and then assaulting multiple police officers, breaking one’s hand and kicking another would not end up with significant jail time. Mercy for one; mercy for all.Bob Keefer represents people charged with DUI/ DWI, traffic tickets, speeding tickets and reckless driving in Elkton, Virginia; Bridgewater, Virginia; Verona, Virginia;  Harrisonburg, Virginia; Rockingham County, Virginia; Staunton, Virginia; Augusta County, Virginia; Woodstock, Virginia; Waynesboro, Virginia; and Shenandoah County, Virginia

Woodstock DWI Lawyer Bob Keefer says keep us all safe — put video cameras in every police car

Monday, August 4th, 2008

Smart law enforcement officers demand that their vehicles be equipped with functioning video cameras with an audio component.  It keeps them safe from false claims of sexual assault.  Smart citizens demand that law enforcement be so equipped so that citizens are safe from inappropriate conduct on the part of police officers. Washington State Trooper Carlos Torres was been accused of fondling a female DUI suspect.  She also claims that he touched her personal parts.   A jury believed her and Trooper Torres was convicted and looks forward to six months in jail. Washington State Trooper Eric Corrigan is accused of touching two female arrestees.  These claims are not without precedent in Washington.  In 2005 Former Washington State Trooper Michael Idland plead guilty to and was found guilty of sexually touching women he stopped for suspicion of DUI. Aren’t video cameras the best way to keep everyone safe?
