Marcus Vick, the younger brother of Michael Vick, former Virginia Tech and Atlanta Falcon quarterback, was charged with DUI and misdemeanor eluding police after a June, 2008 traffic stop.

Vick was arrested after Norfolk police decided that he had failed the standardized field sobriety tests.  His passenger was charged with drunk in public.

Marcus Vick was also a Virginia Tech quarterback and had been with the Miami Dolphins before being released by them.

How to choose a Virginia DUI Lawyer

Choosing the right DUI attorney in Virginia is extremely important.  In my free EBook linked here I provide you with important questions to ask your prospective attorney.  Many attorneys choose to dabble in DUI defense.  DUI convictions have become so significant that you cannot afford an attorney that dabbles.  Please review my Ebook before making that important decision.

Police claim Woodstock lady was drunk in car crash that injured her son

On June 4, 2008 police claim that Maud Ward, 50 years old, was drunk when she crashed into a dump truck at the Intersection of Route 11 and Route 42.  The truck had the green arrow and Ward had the green light.  With the arrow the truck had the right of way.

Witnesses reported that the intersection is dangerous and that many people fail to understand the lights.

Three car crash backups up Interstate 81 in Shenandoah County VA

A 16 year old Harrisonburg teenager failed to yield right of way and caused a three car crash.  The Harrisonburg youth drove his 2007 Dodge Nitro into a school bus.  The bus then crashed into a tractor trailer.  Fortunately there were only minor injuries although a passenger in the semi was transported to Shenandoah Memorial Hospital.

Virginia’s “dated, unstable and unreliable” Intoxilyzer 5000

The person that filled out the 2005 grant application calling Virginia’s Intoxilyzer 5000 was the head of a department.  He had gotten approval for the grant application from his immediate superior as well the head of the entire agency.

Dated, unstable and unreliable was an admission by the Department of Forensic Science to the legislature.  When this admission was discovered the Department quickly publically denied the truth of what it had told the legislature.  Apparently it is okay to be deceptive for 1.7 million in funding; however, it would never be done to convict a citizen of drunk driving.

Despite its behind the scenes admission to the legislature, the Department publically claims that the Intoxilyzer 5000 is a “magic box” since it will shut itself down if it is going to make a mistake.  In that fashion, it never makes a mistake.

Of course machines are not perfect; if they were Challenger and Columbia would never have taken off on the missions where they crash.
