In the United States between 3,000 to 5,000 people are killed through the actions of alcohol impaired drivers.  This is not the 21,000 or so alcohol related deaths that the government uses to justify further infringement of our freedoms.  Why doesn’t the government just tell us the truth?

Videotapes protect both the police and the citizen.  Only one state South Carolina requires a videotape of DUI arrests.  If we made is mandatory that a videotape be made of all such arrests we would not have what we seem to have here — a woman beaten by a police officer.

Zero tolerance is the rage now with politicians attempting to outdo each other in being tough on crime.  So what happens when parents, knowing their high school son and his friends are going to drink with or without permission, hold a supervised, controlled party?  Are they rewarded for collecting car keys and having the students stay overnight?

NO.  Instead they will be arrested, prosecuted and probably convicted.   Zero tolerance means zero sense.
