Actor Reveals Fate of Jon Snow To Avoid Ticket

Actor Reveals Fate of Jon Snow To Avoid Ticket:  Kit Harington is an actor in the HBO series, Game of Thrones who plays Jon SnowHarington recounted on the Tonight Show hosted by Jimmy Fallon that he revealed whether Jon Snow lived or died to avoid a speeding ticket.  Harington told Jimmy Fallon that the officer told him,  “Look, there’s two ways we could do this. “You can either follow me back to the police station now and I book you in, or you can tell me whether you live in the next series of Game of Thrones.”‘  After Harington confirmed Snow lives on into the next season, the traffic officer said,  ‘”On your way Lord Commander. Keep the speed down this far south of the wall.”‘

Actor Reveals Fate of Jon Snow To Avoid Ticket: This was a big secret since Harington had been telling fans that his character, Jon Snow, was dead.  Harington went so far as to tell fans the reason he was seen on set was that he appeared as a corpse.  Game of Thrones is a fantasy series derived from George R.R. Martin’s fantasy books.  Game of Thrones documents a fictional civil war between nobles fighting over the Iron Throne for the Seven Kingdoms.  The show has set records for viewership, and has been widely praised for its story, production, acting and the complexity of its characters.  The series has been awarded 26 Emmy awards, 3 Hugo Awards, a Peabody and was nominated for three Golden Globes.

Game of Thrones is in its seventh season and the show has made inroads into popular culture.  The name Khaleesi, taken from the show, has become one of the most popular names for female newborns.  The term Game of Thrones has become a figure of speech describing high pitched conflict and deceit.

Hurricane Running Back Gets DUI

Hurricane Running Back Gets DUI

Hurricane Running Back Gets DUI:  The Miami Hurricanes have suspended Running Back Mark Walton from the football team following his April 23, 2016 early morning DUI arrest.  Miami law enforcement reports that Walton was charged with driving under the influence as well as knowingly driving suspended.  Police indicate that other charges are pending as their investigation continues.  One possible additional charge is impersonation of a law enforcement officer.  The Miami athletic director said:  “We are aware of the situation regarding Mark Walton and we have taken immediate action by suspending him from the team. . .We have no further comment at this time.”

Hurricane Running Back Gets DUI: The police reported in their affidavit that Walton had a “strong odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from his mouth”, that his “eyes were watery and bloodshot” and that he slurred his word and lost his balance exiting his motor vehicle.  Walton then failed a roadside agility test, was arrested and taken for his formal breath test which showed a 0.059 and a o.060 which are over the zero tolerance 0.02 for anyone under 21 years of age.  It is, of course, astounding that Walton would be slurring his speech, having trouble standing with watery blood shot eyes when his breath alcohol content was only 0.06.  Walton was required to post a $2,000 bond before he was allowed to leave jail.  #HurricaneRunningBackGetsDUI

Hurricane Running Back Gets DUI:  Before getting suspended from the team, Walton, a sophomore, was Miami’s starting running back this spring, rushing for over 450 yards with 9 touchdowns.  Walton had over 1,000 all purpose yards.  Walton was a Booker T. Washington High School product and he was offered scholarships from Auburn, Florida State, Tennessee and South Carolina.  After choosing his home town team, Walton said: “Not leaving the city of Miami and my family can be there for me when I need them to, it was a perfect fit for me. … I think we have the potential, with the guys over there now and the guys coming in, I think we have the potential to be a great team.”

Just a week before his arrest, in the team’s annual spring game, Walton had 10 carries for 56 yards.

Hot Cop of Castro Runs Down Pedestrians

Hot Cop of Castro Runs Down Pedestrians

Hot Cop of Castro Runs Down Pedestrians: Police allege that on the last day of November, 2015, invalided Officer Christopher Kohrs struck two pedestrians who were crossing the street and then fled on foot.  Kohrs has been called the “Hot Cop of Castro” and is something of a celebrity in the Castro District of San Francisco and on the social media.  Kohrs was not apprehended until the next day when he turned himself in at the police station, probably with his lawyer.  Kohrs was charged with two felony hit and run offenses and was subsequently released upon the posting of a $100,000.00 bond.  The bond is a payment made by or on behalf of the accused to gain his release from jail pending trial.  The bond is a financial assurance that the Accused will appear for all court dates and remain of good behavior pending trial.  #HotCopOfCastroRunsDownPedestrians

Hot Cop of Castro Runs Down Pedestrians: District Attorney George Gascon expressed some concerns for his case due to the lack of drug and alcohol testing of Kohrs after the pedestrians were run down.  It is not clear how Kohrs’ alleged failure to render assistance and failure to remain at the scene would be affected by the Government’s inability to prove he was drunk or high at the time of the collision.  The felony hit and run statutes are neutral as far as the sobriety of the driver who flees the scene.  #HotCopOfCastroRunsDownPedestrians

Hot Cop of Castro Runs Down PedestriansThese two felony charges have cast a shadow on Kohrs’ internet fame as it has been reported that his Facebook page has been taken down.  That is probably an expected result since the allegations put Kohrs in a less than favorable light.  According to police, Kohrs’ orange Dodge Charger struck the two middle aged men and then stopped.  The driver’s image was caught as he raced away on foot from the scene.  The video shows everyone else rushing to the scene to assist his victims.  Ironically, Kohrs was on medical leave status at the time due to a work related knee injury.  From the video the person racing away from the injured persons seemed to be in top shape based on his running form and great foot speed.  Also, ironically, Kohrs cannot be suspended from the force while out on medical disability.  If and when he goes off disability he can be suspended without pay.  Until then he continues to draw his disability pay and is entitled to all other benefits.

David Cassidy Charged with Hit and Run: On September 9, 2015 in Florida, David Cassidy allegedly rammed another vehicle while driving at a high rate of speed swerving in and out of his lane.  Then the allegation continues Cassidy stopped, hid his license plate and sped off again without identifying himself or offering aid to the motorist he struck.  At the time Cassidy had a suspended license for prior DWI charges.  As you might imagine Courts take violations of license suspension for DWI very seriously.  Cassidy was charged with driving suspended for DWI and hit and run.

David Cassidy Charged with Hit and Run:  On September 9, 2015 Cassidy was found at the Cleveland Clinic along with the 2014 Kia Sportage that borne body damage consistent with the relevant car crash.  Cassidy admitted to being in the collision but claimed that he left his identification with the other driver before leaving the scene.  Law Enforcement claims that Cassidy left the scene despite having a flat tire from the impact.  The other vehicle sustained over $12,000.00 in damages; its driver was taken to the hospital to confirm he had no serious injuries.

David Cassidy Charged with Hit and Run: Cassidy has been arrested three times for DWI.  On the day of the collision, Cassidy’s Florida house was sold for Two Million Dollars as part of his Bankruptcy.  Cassidy has fallen a long way from his years as a teen pop star.

Sometime Famous people like Justin Bieber get stopped for reckless driving.  At the end of August, 2015, Beverly Hills police stopped Bieber for passing to the right and for having illegal amounts of tint on his windows.  Bieber was driving an exotic sports car.  Bieber has had earlier brushes with the law including a DWI and a destruction of property involving tens of thousands of dollars caused by egging a neighbors’ house.  In the Beverly Hills case the police wisely dispatched several cruisers once Bieber‘s identity was known.  Beverly Hills attempts to take care of its own while keeping its residents safe as well.

Bieber has gotten himself into a great deal of trouble in the past by his actions and his statements to police.  Bieber would be much better off if he learned to assert his right against self-incrimination and his right to have counsel present during any interrogation.    Anything that you say to the police can and will be used against you in a court of law.  If an officer misunderstands what you said what he heard will be used against you.  You are much better off keeping the slate clean and simply telling the Officer, “I want a Lawyer.  If I am not under arrest, please let me go.”  There may have been a time when celebrities got favorable treatment from law enforcement but that time appears to no longer exist.  Today I am afraid that many police officers would love to be known as the Police Officer who arrested Justin Bieber.  Keefer Law Firm has a FREE APP to talk to the police.

Finding a Harrisonburg Reckless Driving Lawyer

Finding a Harrisonburg Reckless Driving Lawyer

Finding a Harrisonburg Reckless Driving Lawyer

Finding a Harrisonburg Reckless Driving Lawyer:  Because Virginia reckless driving charges are Class One Misdemeanors a conviction means a permanent criminal record.   In Virginia you cannot expunge a conviction so if you are convicted and do not successfully appeal you cannot rid yourself of this black mark.

In many Virginia Courts the Judges are considering active jail time for drivers found traveling 90 or more miles per hour.  As a misdemeanor a reckless driving charge also carries the possibility of a suspended license for up to six months and a fine up to $2,500.00.   In addition to the direct consequences, a reckless driving conviction also carries with it:

1. A significant increase in your Automobile Insurance Premiums.  Some surveys indicate that the conviction will boost your rates by 20% or more.

2. Problems getting or maintaining a security clearance.  One reckless driving conviction may not kill a security clearance but it certainly raises issues about your judgment.

3.  A risk that your job may be affected.  If you drive a company vehicle for a living the insurance costs may force your company to terminate you.

You want to look for several things in choosing your Harrisonburg Reckless Driving Lawyer:

1. You want a Lawyer who has experience in the Harrisonburg Courts.  A Judge once told Bob a Good Lawyer knows the Law and a Great Lawyer knows the Judge.  Knowing the Judge means understanding what arguments and facts work with your particular Judge.  Bob has been practicing in the Harrisonburg Courts for more than 30 years.

Many people, including athletes get charged with reckless driving by speed.  In August of 2015, Cambridge United Striker Jordan Slew was clocked at 156 miles per hour in his M4 BMW. That 156 mph is thought to be the fastest motorist stopped in Britain in the last three years.  Slew entered a guilty plea and lost his license for six months with a 1,400 pound fine.  Slew probably did not see the police officer pursuing him since the police officer was unable to catch Slew for three miles.  Slew was eventually stopped because traffic forced him to slow down to 130 miles per hour.  Slew recently signed a eighteen month contract with League Two side Cambridge United.  His previous contract was for one million pounds.

Harrisonburg Traffic Violation Lawyer:  Ty Lawson, a point guard for the Denver Nuggets has been arrested for the second time within six months for DUI.

Harrisonburg Traffic Violation Lawyer: Lawson attended college at the University of North Carolina.  As a Tar Heel, Lawson had a very good basketball career.  Lawson often led the team with assists and was fourth on points scorred.  Lawson was credited with helping his team win the ACC Tournament.  Lawson also helped his team win a spot in the Final Four.  In June of 2008, Lawson was stopped for a loud stereo and charged with a baby DUI.  He was also charged with driving suspended.

Harrisonburg Traffic Violation Lawyer:  Lawson is known for withdrawing from the 2008 NBA Draft and returning to North Carolina for his junior year.  Lawson was joined by teammates Wayne Ellington, Danny Green and Tyler Hansbrough in withdrawing from the draft and keeping the team intact.

Lawson was ACC Player of the Year in that junior year.  He also made the All ACC First Team.  He also won the Bob Cousy Award from being the best college point guard.  Lawson also helped the Tar Heels beat Michigan in the 2009 NCAA championship taking his team to a national title. Lawson then entered the 2009 NBA draft.

Harrisonburg Traffic Violation Lawyer:  Lawson has had a number of traffic violations.  In April of 2012 in Colorado, Lawson was charged with careless driving, driving outside his restricted license and allowing an unlicensed person to operate his vehicle.  Lawson was arrested in January, 2013 for not appearing to answer these charges.  Lawson eventually entered a guilty plea to allowing an unauthorized person to drive and the other charges were nol prossed.

Since Lawson was on bond for the first DUI, with conditions including no drinking or drugging and no more DUIs, he may stay in jail for a while.  In his July DUI arrest, Lawson got pulled over by the California Highway Patrol for extreme speeding.  Apparently Lawson displayed what were believed to be signs of intoxication and was arrested.  According to the Denver prosecutors, Lawson’s recent arrest may complicate his Denver 1st DUI charge.

Everyone needs a Top Traffic Lawyer from time to time.  In May of 2015, Enrique Iglesias was charged with three misdemeanor arising from a traffic stop.  Iglesias was charged with obstruction of justice, driving with an expired license and driving with a suspended license.  The obstruction charge arose from Iglesias allegedly attempting to avoid being charged for driving suspended by having his passenger sit behind the wheel.  The Florida Trooper saw the movement and confronted the pair.

Iglesias invoked his right to an attorney and remained silent.  His passenger did not understand his rights and answered the Trooper’s questions.  Bob is always teaching people that they not only need to know their rights but the people around them need to know their rights as well.  Iglesias did the proper thing in refusing to help the Trooper build a case against him.  The only way that the criminal justice system will work is when people accused, like Iglesias, assert their rights and correctly decline to help their prosecutors.  The best thing to say to the Officer is “I want my Lawyer.  If I am not under arrest please let me go.”  You have the obligation to assert your rights sho that the system will treat you properly.  If you fail to assert that right anything you say can and will be used against you in a court of law.  Anything that you say that helps you will be ignored, forgotten or denied by the officer. #topvirginiarecklessdrivinglawyer

Many people, even famous people get charged with traffic charges.  Randy Howard, a country music Outlaw, was recently shot to death by a bounty hunter over a missed court date.  Howard had missed his court date where he was charged with a fourth DUI, possession of a firearm while under the influence, driving revoked and possessing drug paraphernalia.

A friend had tried to take Howard to his court date but Howard had refused to go.  Howard feared that he would be returned to jail for these offenses had pledged not to return to jail.  Apparently Howard opened fire upon the bounty hunter attempting to detain him.  The bounty hunter was injured by Howard’s gunfire but returned fire at Howard.  Howard was killed in the return fire.

Randy Howard’s first record was the controversial All American Redneck, in 1983.  The title track was deemed too colorful for radio.  That stigma helped make the song and the album very popular.  Howard played with the likes of Willie Nelson, Waylon Jennings and Gregg Allman.  Howard has also gone on tour with Billy Joe Shaver and the Confederate Railroad.  In recent months Howard had been working on an album of gospel music.

It appears that Howard had significant problems with drugs and alcohol.  Our government’s harsh approach to drugs and alcohol probably ensured Howard’s death because he was destined to resist incarceration.  Perhaps a more holistic approach would have saved Howard’s life as drugs and alcohol addictions are terrible foes to conquer.

Anyone can get a traffic charge in the United States of today.  On Sunday, June 14, 2015, Jeff Gooch was arrested for DWI in Hillsborough County, Florida.  Gooch is a former Tampa Bay Bucaneer linebacker. Gooch was in the NFL from 1996 through 2005.

Gooch is presently Vice President for Football Operations for the Tampa Bay Storm.  He joined the Storm in 2011.  Gooch was also charged for failing to submit to a breath test.  Gooch is the second member of the Tampa Bay Storm organization to be charged with DWI within the last month.  The first was Chris Hovan, an assistant coach.  Hovan is also a former NFL Tampa Bay Buccaneer player.  Hovan was also charged with DWI, DWI property damage and DWI with a minor in the vehicle.

Gooch probably did not understand that he should refuse the standardized field sobriety tests the officers would have initially offered.  Gooch probably has a great number of residual injuries from his ten years in the NFL and could not complete the three standardized tests on his best day.  If Gooch suffered concussions, like most football players do during their career, it should be no surprise that he showed nystagmus during the Horizontal Gaze Nystagmus testing.  Gooch probably understood too late that the standardized field sobriety tests were not something that many people ever pass.
